I am in Italy but I am in love with Australians

It's been too many days since I've blogged! Here comes this weeks recap!

Monday...
I started my day off with 9am Italian class. We learned so many new and very useful phrases. Just like French I am HORRIBLE and pronunciation! Taylor and I decided to sign up for this group where you meet up with Italians once a week and converse with them so hopefully that will improve my pronunciation and help me learn the language better. After class I went back to the apartment and took a nap because I was exhausted! After being lazy in the apartment for several hours with a sick Taylor I decided to go out and do some shopping on my own. I checked out all the cute stores we've been meaning to stop in but haven't gotten around to. One store I went into called Subdued that reminded me so much of Urban! It had such cute clothes!! I made my first clothing purchases and got two tops for 27 Euro total..I was very proud of myself! I explored some more stores but most of them were wayyyy out of my price range. After a while I headed back to my apartment so I could get dinner started. All of us have been craving chipotle so Monday became Mexican Monday and we made a pretty good knock off chipotle meal. It was a nice change for the carb overload as much as I love pasta and bread. The rest of the night was spent in finishing off some homework and booking a trip to Prague for Thanksgiving break..WOOO!!

Tuesday..
Tuesday was another day of class. Fashion and the Media and Italian Fashion and Culture class. I got the BEST sandwich I have had so far and the cheapest too! The bread and olive oil on it were just so good! Conveniently it is located right next to our school so I will be going there on the regular! After class Taylor, Amanda, Jaron, Olivia and I checked out some of the local vintage shops which was pretty cool! We hear theres a vintage shop across the river that takes vintage Chanel buttons and makes  necklaces and earrings with them so we're dying to check that one out in the near future. After about an hour it was time for a gelato tour with Petra (the student advisor here). The gelato tour consisted of walking around to four gelato places but I decided to only do 2 of the 4 and only got gelato at one. The gelato we got was amazinggggg but I had tried that place before. I got half cookies gelato (for the first time) and it was amazing and half dark chocolate. After the second place Olivia and I walked back and had a little bit of pasta for dinner and called it a night.

Wednesday...
I had two classes Wednesday...including my first study tour class. In study tour our teacher basically told us that the world of fashion as we know it is going to be dead by 2025 so theres that...but it actually did make sense because the reasoning behind it was that our world is not environmentally conscious enough and we're going to pay for it in the future due to lack of resources. Study tour sounds really interesting! Our projects are to do mood boards, trend reports, and fashion forecasting and it focuses on not just Italy but the places we travel to as well. After class my roommates, Jaron and I headed back to our apartment to make a quick ravioli dinner (which was delicious!!) and get ready to head out to our first pub crawl!! Jaron, Amanda and I were participating in the pub crawl and Olivia and Taylor stayed back because they both had tests the next day. The pub crawl started out with a meet up at the Duomo with the Florence for fun people and other students studying abroad. The pub crawl consisted of going to 3 bars (and receiving free shots at each one) and ending at the grand opening of a new club called 21. We started at Naima and stayed their for about 45 min and then headed on to an English pub Kikuya. At Kikuya there was a group of Australian guys outside waiting to go in and I decided my best move was to make best friends with them...and so I did. I convinced them to join our pub crawl and asked the normal questions of how much do you like finding nemo and how many kangaroos do you hangout with. They were so nice! It was definitely a night for meeting a lot of new people which I loved! The next bar we went to was really small so we didn't stay for too long. I fell more in love with the Australians...so I think I am moving there...goodbye America! Finally it was time for the club. The club was jammed packed! I made friends with a girl from Miami and after seeing the huge line for the ladies room we convinced some guys to clear out the mens room and guard the door so we didn't have to wait 500 hours to use the bathroom. The Australians were laughing at us for it but I thought it was a brilliant idea! We stayed at 21 for a little but then everyone I was with was ready to go boooo I had to leave the aussies :( in the process of leaving 21 a few girls including Amanda got their iphones stolen! It was awful! We desperately tried to use track my iphone to find them but we had no such luck. We have been warned that iphone stealing here is very common and to try not to bring them out but I guess you just never think that you'll be the one it happens to. Needless to say I will not be bringing my iphone out after last night! We headed back to the apartment and passed out within minutes of coming home.

Thursday...
Once again classes but one of them was our mini trips for Italian Fashion and Culture soooo the trip was to go to an Italian cooking class!! We learned how to make pasta from scratch, eggplant stacks with potatoes, olive oil and cheese, and dessert of chocolate soufflé! I was in heaven making the food it was so fun! The chef that was assisting us was calling me and Michael the same name which was so confusing and then soon enough he was calling us Michelene and Micheleno which apparently means tall and short. He kept saying MICHELENEE cut the PEPPERINEE!! When we finished prepping all the food so it was ready to be cooked they sent us off into the dinning area. The first part of the meal was the eggplant stacks...I don't think I have ever tasted something so delicious. The eggplant was followed by our pasta dish of homemade spaghetti with veggies and a white wine sauce...once again I don't know how it is possible for food to taste that good!! Finally dessert was served... the chocolate souffle!! I think that was the best meal I have ever had! At the end we got the recipes for what we had cooked so yess I will be making that all the time and plan to cook it at home as well! After our cooking class we started to head home but couldn't resist a shopping trip to Brandy Melville. Brandy Melville is the cutest store!! Taylor ended up going nuts and literally buying everything haha and I bought a top and a maxi skirt. I have been shopping deprived all summer saving for Europe so it is so hard not to shop now that I am here! The rest of the night is being spent catching up on our blogs and etc in the apartment. Tomorrow we go to the leather factory!! I AM SO EXCITEDDD!!!!! we get to make our own leather bracelets!
